THE SOLAR SYSTEM

                   THE SOLAR SYSTEM

The the solar system is a big family that exist in the Universe. It consist of sun, the 8 planets, moons of this planet several comets, meteors meteorites, other heavenly bodies etc. Planet Earth where we live is one of this planets. The planets of the solar system, Orbit or travel around the sun and egg shape called orbits. The Sun  froms the centre of the solar system. It is also the largest object in the solar system and hold the solar system together with its Gravity.

PLACE  FOR PLANETS

8 major planets are a part of solar system. Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are closer to the sun and are known as the INNER PLANETS.  Further
away are Jupiter,  Saturn Uranus and Neptuneare known OUTER PLANETS .  Each of the 8 planets revolve around the sun at  different speeds. Mercury is the fastest and takes only 88 days to travel around the sun. However ,  Neptune, which is hardest from the sun takes around 164 hundred years to go around the sun.

THE PLANET CLUB

For any celestial body to be called a planet, it has to full fill the following requirements:
1. It must Orbit around the sun
2. It should be large enough and have strong gravity to be around in shape
3. It must dominate the neighbourhood (planets around its Orbit).

 PLUTO — NOT A  PLANET

Earlier, the solar system consisted of nine planets including Pluto. However in 2006 Pluto was decided to excluded from the planets in solar system as it dwarf  planet and does not meet the necessary requirements needed to be planets, one of the main one being a planet must be enough  to dominant the neighbourhood around Orbit.

Comets

ASTEROID  BELT

The solar system is also home to a number of other smaller objects .The Asteroid belt, which lies between Mars  and Jupiter is composed of similar materials of Rock and metal, as the planets. Kupier belt extending from the orbit of Neptune  is similar to Asteroid belt besides Pluto for 4 most dwarf planets have been discovered namely — Ceres, Haumea , makemake And  Eris,  large enough to have been rounded by their own gravity in addition million of small bodies like comets , centaurs and interplanetary dust, winds and cloud freely roam in between planet in the solar system.
