ROCKETS part 1
The Chinese made the first rocket about 1000 years ago but they were more like firework than today's space rocket. They were flaming arrows that were fired from a basket using gun powder.

In 1986, American robot Goddard launched a 3.5m long rocket it flu about as high as two storey building nowhere near outer space, and landed 56m away. The flight lasted just two and half second.
Who built the rocket for war?
Wenher von Braun invented the V2 ,a rocket missile used by the Germans in World War 2. After the war, von braun move to the United States to help with the new American Space Program.
Amazing facts
Thrust SSC the fastest car has to jet engine a jet engine could not power space mission because at need air and there is no air in space.
