WHAT IS SOIL
Soil is the most important renewable natural resource it is the medium of plant green and supports different types of living organism on the earth the soil is living system it's takes million of years to forms soil up to few CM in depth. Parent Rock and Bedrock climate vegetation and other forms of life and time are important factors in the formation of soil various process of nature such as change in temperature action of running water and glaciers activities of the composition etc contribute to formation of soil chemical an organic changes which take place in the soil and are equally important soil also consists of organic humans and inorganic materials.
Classification of soil
ALLUVIAL SOIL
This is the most widely spread and important soil impact the entire Northern Plains are made of Alluvial soil this happened deposited by their three important Himalayan River systems the Indus Ganga and the Brahmaputra the soils are also extend in Rajasthan and Gujarat through a narrow corridor Alluvial soil is also found in the eastern coastal plains particularly in deltas of Mahanadi Godavari Krishna and Kaveri rivers.
BLACK SOIL
Soils are black in colour and are also known as regur soil black soil is ideal for growing cotton and is known as Black cotton soil it is believe that climatic conditions along with the parent Rock material are the important factor for the information of black important soil this type of soil is typical of Deccan trap region spread over the north west Deccan Plateau and its make up of Lava flows.
RED AND YELLOW SOIL
Red soil develops on crystalline areas of load rainfall in the eastern and the southern part of the Deccan Plateau yellow and red soil are also found in parts of Odisha Chhattisgarh south and part of the middle Ganga plane and along the piedmont zone of the Western Ghats this size develops redish colour due to diffusion of iron in crystalline and metaphoric rock it looks yellow well it occur in hydrate form.
ARID SOIL
